The difference between websites and web apps

There is no doubt that these two sentences sound alike, not just in words alone but somehow in meaning too.
We'd be distin

guishing shortly the differences.

after reading this topic, I expect you to understand how they both work and how not mistake them for each other. As usual, I'd try to make it concise and enjoyable for you to read.
for a crystal clear understanding of this topic, you are herby advised to read till the end.
So we both know what a website is don't we?,
in case you don't.

What is a website?

A website Is a collection of web pages connected together under a single domain. Its an organization or individual's internet space.
it can be accessed using a web browser.

To understand fully about a website, read what is a website and how does it work?.

What is a Web app?

A web app is an application software that runs on a web browser, It is delivered from the world wide web to users with an active internet connection unlike other software programs that run offline on the operating system.

What is the difference between a web app and website?

While a website is independently hosted on the internet, and can be accessed using any web browser, the web app stands as a web browser application built specifically for a website.
Use your mobile banking app for example, you are connected the internet but you can't browse anything else than your bank related stuff.
Now what if you leave the bank app and open the bank's official website on Google chrome?,of course it will open but this time you have freewill to open any other website, on the same tab or a different one.

So simply a web app is a website running independently on its own personal web browser but this time it doesn't share space with any other website, it owns the web browser.

you can't open eBay on Amazon's web app vice versa, because each website personally owns it space.
But if you are on a web browser its definitely okay because a web browser is a public space.

Let's make an illustration using Amazon.

Let's say Amazon is a person and he has a shop in the market which is the web browser, where he sells his fruits and fresh vegetables, and then he has a farm on the country side which he owns privately and anyone can come buy freshly from the farm(web app), where there's zero distraction and all the focus is on Amazon's fresh farm produce(services). When you open Amazon on your favourite browser, and you see the recommendation "download our app".

That's you visiting Amazon in the market but Amazon tells you "let's go to my farm, it has more stuff, easy to navigate, no distractions, there's more security and discounts. Does that sound familiar?.
